Twelfth Night: Online

In a post-COVID world, the citizens of of Illyria find themselves needing an elevated social media platform to socialize, network, and create content. This adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night takes place entirely on www.illyria-online.com—the solution to online living whilst in quarantine. The characters of Twelfth Night explore the difference between how you present yourself online versus who you are in real life as they stumble through a series of miscommunications resulting from not being able to be honest about who they really are. Twelfth Night is a part of Gannon University Schuster Theatre’s Shakespeare Summer Nights. It was produced in collaboration with Britty Lea Film, and streamed live to the Schuster Theatre Facebook page. As it took place during the COVID-19 pandemic, the production was rehearsed throughout June and July 2020 on Zoom and performed live on Facebook July 27-29 and August 3-5 entirely from the homes of individuals involved.
